Jupiter Jake’s Hemp 101 What is CBD?

CBD has grown very popular the past few years, however there is still alot of confusion as to what CBD is and how it works.
What is CBD?

CBD is a natural essential oil extracted from the hemp plant. It is one of over a hundred cannabinoids extracted from a strain of industrial-grade hemp which offers a host of benefits.

Of at least 120 identified cannabinoids that exist in the hemp plant, CBD makes up about 40 percent of the extract from the hemp plant.

CBD does not provide the psychoactive properties of THC, another cannabinoid most associated with the feeling of being “high”. That’s because CBD and THC act in different ways on different receptors in the brain and body.

CBD has many options when it comes to taking it. You can get isolate based tinctures, edibles, or vape pens (THC Free) or you can go with full Spectrum products such as flower, full Spectrum edibles, tinctures and more.

What is Full Spectrum, Isolate and Broad Spectrum?

With less processing and all of the natural cannabinoids, full Spectrum is the most effective type of CBD extract, able to offer the most benefit and most cannabinoids

Broad spectrum and isolate varieties of CBD remove THC entirely, whereas full-spectrum CBD formulations enable the “entourage effect”. This means all of the cannabinoids work together as a team to achieve synergies and improve the overall impact on the body.

With over 120 naturally occurring plant compounds - known as cannabinoids - in industrial hemp, each compound plays an important role in the overall effectiveness of CBD products. Having the complete range of naturally occurring plant compounds and cannabinoids in full-spectrum CBD provides maximum benefit

Understanding your own personal endocannabinoid system will help you gage how cbd will benefit you personally. Everyone has their own unique endocannabinoid system meaning what works for one person may not work for another.
The endocannabinoid system plays an important role  in regulating a broad range of physiological processes that affect our mood, our energy level, our digestive and immune systems, blood pressure, bone density, glucose metabolism, how we experience pain, stress, hunger, and more.
Cbd works in our system in the endocannabinoid network, helping the body manage stressors and promoting homeostasis to achieve a better sense of balance and groundedness.

Thanks to the 2018 US Farm Bill we can all enjoy CBD products and use them to help with our Day to day lives.  CBD continues to help many people and its exciting to see what the future will hold!
